State Of The World

“State of the World 2011 objectively states the hunger, water and environmental problems facing Africa and the rest of the world, and illuminates a multitude of encouraging answers that are already saving lives and livelihoods. It is an eloquent, painstakingly researched sound of warning and expression of hope.”
Worldwatch says that over 2 billion of Earth’s nearly 7 billion inhabitants are now considered to be in the global consumer class. Insightful and powerful exploration of our cultural predicament, calmly calling for a peaceful cultural revolution and offering 60 distinct voices for change from today’s leading sustainability visionaries.

Reaction: I liked this book and how a group had to present and tell us about it so we didn't have to read the entire book in six weeks. This way it was a more interesting class session and we got to learn more from other students in the class. State of the world is a very interesting book and tells you a lot about the world and what things are going on. I enjoy how they switch topics every year to keep it new and exciting.
